Mission

Our mission is to build faith-community within the Cathedral Our Lady Parish, its school, its students and parents. Holy Rosary School will provide opportunities for students to actively live their faith in such a way that it will permeate their relationship with God, their family, the school, the parish and the world community. The school also exists to provide academic studies that will ensure a strong base for the future education of its students. Challenging the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical potential of the student is our goal.

Goals and Objectives

  • To be aware of student needs- intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual
  • To stress gospel values in daily living, especially in decision-making situations.
  • To provide a Christian and caring environment.
  • To make prayer and worship an integral part of the day.
  • To develop academic programs and curriculum that serve the varied needs of all students.
  • To provide opportunities for students to practice self-discipline and personal responsibility.
  • To encourage parent participation and involvement in the educational process.
  • To inspire a concern for justice and peace in our world.

A Holy Rosary Graduate

Upon graduation from eighth grade at Holy Rosary School, each student will be prepared for the high school world. Graduates have received the information and experienced the Catholic values that will assist them as they grow and become involved in the larger high school, local, and church communities.

We strive to instill in our students the following qualities:

  • An understanding of the Catholic faith and how to live it in their daily lives.
  • A love of learning and a thorough foundation in basic skills to continue the life-long educational process.
  • A reverence for self, others, and life itself at all its stages.
  • An ability to effectively solve problems and make decisions that are based upon the rights and responsibilities for themselves, their families, and society in general.
  • A display of self-discipline, responsibility, patience, empathy, persistence, and courage in their dealings with others.
  • An ability to communicate the truth effectively, orally and in writing, to express oneself clearly and to listen to others in a way that respects their dignity.
  • A commitment to peace and justice in the world by showing generosity toward other people and by cooperating and working with others to achieve their goals.

The Role of the Middle School Parent

We at Holy Rosary School believe our job is to assist parents in the education of their children. We take our responsibility seriously as a partner to parents. We ask that you help us motivate your student to do well, support our teachers to develop the best methods to instill a love of learning and a concern for giving service to our school and the local community.

We ask that you take an active interest in the homework assigned and have a regular study time in your home, not only to do assigned work by also to engage in extended reading and study beyond the required tasks. We also ask that you monitor your student's work by signing their academic planner on a weekly basis. This will develop a sense of excellence and commitment in our students. We ask that you call the teachers, principal, or assistant principal about any concerns that arise. In addition, we ask that you support school policies and staff.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss matters with you on the phone or in person.
