Catholic Schools Week Highlight: Diaper Drive
The five Duluth Area Catholic Schools including Holy Rosary, St. James School, St. John's the Evangelist School, St. Michael's Lakeside School and St. Rose School collected baby items for the Women's Care Center during Catholic Schools Week as a new coordinated service project. Students in kindergarten through 8th grade participated. HRS collected 4,487 diapers to add to 6,120 wipes, 126 pairs of socks, 103 onesies, 6 cans of baby formula,
33 bottles of lotion, 12 bottles of shampoo, 12 tubes of balm along with
laundry soap, blankets, changing pads, baby towels, bibs, outfits, books, hats
and gloves, sweaters, toys and swim goggles. This capped a week of special
events at each campus in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week, a national
recognition of the benefits and contributions Catholic schools give to their
communities.
