PROFILE 2007-2008
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish founded Holy Rosary School in 1923. Accredited by MNSAA (Minnesota Non Public Schools Accrediting Association) since 1987, Holy Rosary successfully completed its 3rd accreditation process in April 2002 and earned the highest recommendation from an on-site team. Holy Rosary is one of twelve schools in the Diocese of Duluth and is a member of the Duluth Area Catholic Schools also known as DACS.
There are 268 students from 178 families being educated with Christ as model in kindergarten through grade eight. A middle school program incorporates grades 6-8. Class size averages 19 students. A tuition assistance program assists Cathedral families based on need. 10% of students are receiving tuition scholarships totaling $35,000. 84% of the families served are Catholic and 77% are members of the Cathedral Parish.
Students take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) each year in the spring. Class averages in language, math and reading consistently rank in the top ten percent of national results. Honors are achieved annually in a variety of regional and state competitions, including Science Fair and History Day.
